About this idea

Young people are part of Tiverton now, not simply its future. The draft Strategic Plan commits the Council to supporting an independent youth forum or youth council: supported by the Town Council, but led by young people themselves. It would give young people a way to set their own priorities, develop projects and speak directly to the people who make decisions. They might organise an event, improve a public space, campaign on transport, or bring forward an idea none of us has thought of.

What young people have told us already

At a workshop at the Town Hall, with Devon Youth Council, young people chose three things to work on: making the town centre feel safer, a youth-led pop-up shop, and taking part in the Christmas Lights Switch-On. [Confirm this can be published, and add anything since.]
