These five priorities set out the Council’s framework for improving Tiverton over the coming years. They focus on the areas where the Council can take action, influence change, and support the town’s development. Each priority highlights a key area of work, from the town centre and public spaces to community life, young people and how the Council operates.
The Council is committed to ensuring that these priorities are delivered in a way that reflects Tiverton’s values as a welcoming, inclusive and respectful town. We will seek to ensure that people from all backgrounds feel safe, valued and able to participate in community and civic life, recognising that our diversity strengthens the town and enriches the communities we serve.

Priority 1: Vibrant town centre and local economy
A lively and attractive town centre is essential to a thriving community. The Council will support regular activity and events to increase footfall, attract visitors and build confidence in the town.

Everyday spaces such as parks, open areas and public facilities have a significant impact on quality of life. The Council will focus on improving these spaces so they are accessible, well-maintained and welcoming.
